Two Rivers ‘L’Ile de Beauté’ Marlborough Rosé 2015

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 01-Nov-2015
Bright, light purple-hued cerise-pink colour with some depth, pale edged. The nose is very elegant and tightly bound with penetrating aromas of strawberry and cherry fruit, along with pink florals, refreshing herb elements, and very delicate, lifted confectionary detail. The nose reveals thirst-quenching mineral notes with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, bright, vibrant and lively flavours of cherries and strawberries are lifted by soft red and pink florals, herbs and minerals. This has good depth and intensity, the mouthfeel enlivened by crisp and racy acidity. Some delicate confectionary notes enhance the fruitiness, and the fine-textured, concentrated core leads to a thirst-quenching, very long and sustained finish of cherries and strawberries. This is a tightly concentrated, vibrant, cherry and strawberry fruited dry rosé with a thirst-quenching, lively palate and aromatic detail. A classic rosé to serve as an aperitif, and with tapas over the next 2 years. Pinot Noir fruit, clones 667, 777 and 5 from the ‘Dew’ vineyard in the Southern Valleys, fermented to 13.0% alc. and 2.77 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on lees. 1,000 cases made. 19.0/20 Oct 2015 RRP $25.00
