Two Rivers ‘L’Ile de Beauté’ Marlborough Rosé 2013

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 05-Sep-2013
‘Ile de Beauté’ refers to Corsica, where winemaker Dave Clouston had 3 vintages. 100% Pinot Noir fermented to 13.0% alc. and 5 g/L RS. Made in a ‘Mediterranean style’. Pale cerise-pink colour with slight purple hues. The bouquet is tight and slender with intense aromas of strawberries and watermelon entwined with red florals and hints of minerals. Off-dry to taste, a gently luscious core of strawberry fruit and pastille confectionary is the backbone of the palate. The mouthfeel is balanced and smooth-flowing with a very fine phenolic texture and line, and ripe acidity. This is refreshing with mouthwatering mineral elements. The fruit flavours lead to gentle and subtly nuanced, lifted finish of strawberries and red florals. This is an elegantly gentle rosé with subtly luscious strawberry flavours and fresh, balanced mouthfeel. Serve al fresco, with antipasto over the next 2 years. 18.0/20 Sep 2013 RRP $25.00
