Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough

Bright, even, pale yellow with a light green hue. The nose is gently full, with aromas of lime, stonefruit, stony minerals, blossom and saline. Medium-bodied, aromas of lime and kumquat melded with peach, stony minerals, lime blossom and a long linger with saline. The fruit is ripe, with a distinct citrus backbone; taut acidity injects a mineral mouthfeel, and saline with spears lend a lengthy, electric finish. Match with oyster kilpatirck and paua shabu shabu over the next 5+ years. Fruit from Hawkesbury Vineyard in the Southern Valleys, fermented cold in stainless steel to 10.5% alc, 12 g/l RS, then rested on fine lees for five months. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Feb 2025 RRP $24
