Two Rivers ‘Juliet’ Marlborough Riesling 2016

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-Oct-2016
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is very tight and refined with penetrating aromas lime and lemon fruit entwined with exotic jasmine florals melded with mouthwatering minerals and nuances of fresh herbs. Medium-dry to medium in taste and light-medium bodied, the palate is elegant and refined with intense flavours of limes, lemon and mandarins intermixed with exotic yellow florals and mineral motes. The mouthfeel is refreshing with very fine fruit extract textures and beautifully poised acidity. The wine carries the citrus and exotic floral flavours to a long, sustained finish with subtly rich fruit elements. This is a beautiful medium-dry Riesling with refined citrus and exotic floral flavours on a poised, refreshing palate. Serve as an aperitif and with mildly spicy Asian fare over the next 5 years. Fruit from the ‘Brookby Hill’ vineyard, Omaka, from 16 y.o. vines, hand-picked, WBP and cool-fermented to 11.0% alc. and 16.3 g/L RS, TA 7.4 g/L and pH 2.84, the wine aged 4 months on lees. 300 cases made. 18.5+/20 Oct 2016 RRP $24.00
