Two Rivers ‘Juliet’ Marlborough Riesling 2015

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Feb-2016
Bright, even, light straw-yellow colour with pale green hues. The nose is soft and gently voluminous with aromas of jasmine and exotic florals alongside lime fruit, honeysuckle and toasty suggestions, unveiling complexing mineral elements. Medium-dry to taste and light-bodied, the flavours are softly restrained, showing lime fruit harmoniously melded with exotic floral elements, savoury honeysuckle and complex toast and mineral notes. The wine flows along a taut and concentrated line with fine, dry phenolic textures, enlivened by crisp, lacy acidity. The palate carries to a long, lingering finish of jasmine, toast and minerals. This is a light, off-dry Riesling with exotic florals, toast and minerally flavours carried along a taut, fine-textured line. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and Asian cuisine over the next 4-5 years. Hand-picked fruit from the ‘Hagen’ vineyard in the, Southern Valleys, Upper Wairau Valley from 20 y.o. vines, WBP and cool-fermented to 11.0% alc. and 14.3 g/L RS, TA 8.5 g/L and pH 2.96, the wine aged 4 months on lees. 300 cases made. 18.0/20 Feb 2016 RRP $25.00
