Two Rivers ‘Juliet’ Marlborough Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Sep-2013
Bright, very pale straw colour, near colourless on rim. The bouquet is very fresh and tightly bound with concentrated aromas of limes and steely minerals, expressed with purity and finesse. Off-dry to taste and light-medium bodied, tightly concentrated flavours of lime fruit and minerals form a very refined palate core and line. The mouthfeel is refined with a delicate, dry, textural line balanced by subtle richness and sweet fruited lusciousness. This is mouthwatering, the acidity adding great tension and lively freshness. The flavours lead to a very fine and soft textured finish with citrus zest elements that linger. This is a very tightly bound and very youthful, dryish Riesling with thirst-quenching lime and mineral flavours. It will unfold and develop greater richness over the next 5-6+ years, when it will merit a higher rating. Serve with fine Asian fare. Hand-picked fruit WBP and very cool-fermented in tank to 11.5% alc. and 13 g/L RS, with a TA of 9.5 g/L and a pH of 2.81, the wine aged on lees 3 months. 17.5+/20 Sep 2013 RRP $25.00
