Two Rivers ‘Isle of Beauty’ Marlborough Rosé 2018

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Aug-2018
Brilliant, pale strawberry pink with suggestions of purple on the rim, light on the edge. The nose is very elegant and fragrant with subtle aromas of red florals and soft-red berry fruits along with thirst-quenching minerality and delicate lees nuances. This has intensity and penetration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a fine and concentrated, intense core with delicate flavours of red berry fruit and red and white florals, along with mouth-watering mineral and lees elements. The palate has a firm line with very fine dry, phenolic textures with soft, background acidity lending energy. The wine leads to an elegant lingering, detailed thirst-quenching dry finish. This is a finely concentrated, taut and elegant dry rosé with delicate red berry, floral and mineral flavours on a mouth-watering palate. Serve as an aperitif, with canapés and antipasto over the next 2 years. A blend of Pinot Noir, Syrah, Viognier, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Roussanne, from the ‘Saint Maure’, ‘Hagen’ and ‘Brookby Hill’ vineyards in the Southern Valleys, fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 3 g/L RS, the wine aged 2 months on lees. 18.5+/20 Aug 2018 RRP $24.00
