Two Rivers ‘Convergence’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 05-Oct-2014
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. This has an elegantly soft nose, refined and gentle in expression, growing in volume showing lifted white and yellow florals infused with gooseberry fruit, along with layers of minerals, nettles and saline and wet-stone nuances. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, gently rounded, succulent and lifted fruit flavours of passionfruit, gooseberries and florals are harmoniously integrated forming a rich, positive core with herb and tropical fruit detail. The palate flows on a very fine-textured line, the mouthfeel focussed by piquant acidity. The wine flows with energy and soft tension to a dry, mouthwatering, sustained finish with herb, mineral and floral notes. This is a subtly flavoured and detailed Sauvignon Blanc with a soft succulence and vibrancy. Serve with seafood, poultry and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from 4 sites on the banks of the Wairau and Awatere rivers, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.5 g/L RS, a portion of the wine aged 3 months on lees. 18.5+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $25.00
