Two Rivers ‘Convergence’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 05-Oct-2012
Fruit from four vineyards on the banks of the Wairau and Awatere rivers, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.3 g/L rs, a portion of the wine aged in French oak for 3 months with lees contact. Bright, pale straw-yellow with slight green hues. The bouquet is very finely expressed, tightly bound and elegant, showing passionfruit, green capsicums, apples and chalky minerals with a steely, flinty edge. Dry to taste, the flavours of gooseberries and passionfruit are very tight and restrained, but show real concentration and intensity. Bright acidity and fine textures provide a powerful, linear drive with excellent tension and balance, leading to a very long, zesty finish with long, lingering, aromatically lifted nuances of passionfruit and minerals. This is a tightly concentrated Sauvignon of great finesse with real drive. Serve with shellfish over the next 2-3 years. 18.5/20 Oct 2012 RRP $24.00
