Two Rivers ‘Clos des Pierres’ Marlborough Chardonnay 2012

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Oct-2013
Full, even straw-yellow colour with light golden gues. The nose is very aromatic and packed with harmoniously interwoven and rich, ripe citrus and tropical fruit, creamy, nutty, buttery MLF and subtle, complexing flinty notes. Medium-full bodied and very tightly bound, the palate is elegant in proportion, but has excellent concentration. Refined, ripe citrus fruits are enriched by butterscotch and spicy, toasty oak, and the flavours flow along a creamy-textured, near luscious and seamless line. Crisp, lacy acidity is in support, adding a racy firmness and combined with the fruit intensity, is carried to a long, lingering, fine-textured and dry finish. The richness and completeness of the bouquet indicates this tightly-bound and concentrated, Chardonnay will develop complex, creamy flavours over the next 4-5 years. Serve with roast pork. Fruit hand-picked and WBP, fully barrel-fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 20% new French oak with some batonnage over 6 months. 18.5-/20 Oct 2013 RRP $35.00
