Bright, pale yellow, even colour throughout with a slight haze. The bouquet is full and elegant with generosity; filled the glass with buttery shortbread, toasted almonds, white spice melded with a hint of flint and citrus, stonefruit underlay. Medium-full bodied, the palate is bright with clarity and layers, nuances of citrus, stonefruit entwined with white spice, unfolding smoky flint, butter, shortbread and a subtle note of toasted almonds and grapefruit zest. Invigorating acidity brightens the palate with subtle power; provide a mouth-watering drive that flows along with stony mineral texture. This is a well-rounded Chardonnay on a stony mineral textured palate with seamless acidity. Match with wok crayfish with ginger & scallion and cheese souffle over the next 5-8 years. The fruit was sourced from Wairau & Southern valleys, predominantly from 26 y.o. vines, handpicked, lightly whole bunch pressed, naturally fermented to 13% alc, aged in 4,500L French oak cuve and a concrete egg tank.
