Two Paddocks Central Otago Riesling 2011

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 27-Jan-2013
The first release of a ‘Two Paddocks' Riesling. Fruit from 0.5 ha from the ‘Red Bank' vineyard, Earnscleugh, fermented to 11.0% alc. and approx. 5 g/L rs. Brilliant pale, straw-yellow colour with green hues. This has an elegant, fresh and lively bouquet with savoury lime and chalky, reductive mineral aromas that are entwined with saline and lemonade-like notes, the bouquet delicate in detail. Dry to taste, very fine and bright flavours of savoury citrus fruits and lemonade are enlivened by lively, lacy acidity. Minerally elements emerge and flow along a very fine-textured palate line that is elegantly concentrated but showing good tension. The flavours flow to a very long, and crisply dry finish. This is a fresh and lively, detailed dry Riesling with savoury citrus fruit flavours. Serve as an aperitif or with shellfish over the next 4-5 years. 150 cases made. 17.5-/20 Jan 2013 RRP $30.00
