Two Paddocks Central Otago Late Harvest Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 25-Aug-2014
Bright, lemon-green hued, light gold colour, paler on edge. The bouquet is soft and broad with densely packed and softly interwoven aromas of honey, nuts, lime fruit and botrytis-like talc, revealing suggestions of complexing toasty nuances. This has great presence and depth. Medium-sweet and medium-full bodied, deep and densely concentrated flavours of citrus fruits, exotic florals, honey and nuts are seamlessly integrated forming a weighty core. The mouthfeel is rounded and soft with a mellow texture, the low acidity contributing to unctuousness. The palate leads to a full and broad, mouthfilling finish with honey, toast and talc. This is a soft, full and weighty medium-sweet Late Harvest Riesling with toast and honied flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with light fruit desserts over the next 3-4+ years. Fruit from the ‘Red Bank’ vineyard, hand-picked and fermented to 14.0% alc. and 40 g/L RS, with TA 7.6 g/L and pH 3.28. (375ml) 18.0/20 Aug 2014 RRP $33.00 (Release date: late 2014)
