Two Gates Hawke’s Bay Pinot Noir Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 28-Sep-2016
Bright, pale salmon-pink colour, lighter on the rim with purple suggestions. The nose is soft and delicate in expression with fresh aromas strawberries and watermelon and subtle notes of savoury pomegranate and lifted red florals, and a minerally edge. This is fine, firm and tight at the core. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses soft and light flavours of strawberries, red florals and watermelon and hints of savoury confectionary. The mouthfeel is soft and gentle and the palate is guided by light phenolic textures with integrated, but thirst-quenching acidity. The wine carries to a soft, light and delicately flavoured finish of strawberries. This is a soft, delicately flavoured dry rosé with strawberry and watermelon fruit and a gently mouthwatering palate. Serve as an aperitif and with canapes over the next 2 years. Pinot Noir fruit from the ‘Two Gates’ Maraekakaho vineyard, cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and <1 g/L RS, the wine aged two months on lees with some batonnage. 17.5-/20 Sep 2016 RRP $24.99
