Tussock Nelson Pinot Rosé 2013

Rose from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 27-Nov-2013
Soft, pale-pink colour, lighter on rim with some purple hues. This has a moderately full nose of strawberries and cream aromas with an amalgam of savoury cherries, herbs, minerals and confectionary adding detail. Dry and medium-bodied, fresh strawberry and raspberry fruit flavours show good depth and sweetness, and are enlivened by crisp, mouthwatering acidity. The palate has fine-grained, dry tannins supporting the fruit and balancing the fruitiness, providing a linear heart and drive. Some alcohol is noticeable, carrying the flavours with power to a soft, textured long finish. This rosé has a good core of raspberry and cream flavours with some power and drive. Serve with antipasto, tapas and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Three selections of hand-picked Pinot Noir fruit, fully destemmed and given a 24 hours skin contact and indigenous yeast fermented, 20% in seasoned oak to 13.0% alc. and 2 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. Certified BioGro organic. 16.5+/20 Nov 2013 RRP $19.00
