Tussock Nelson Pinot Noir 2012

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 04-Sep-2013
Dark, deep, ruby-red colour with garnet hues on edge. The nose is fresh and elegantly firm with aromas of dark red cherry fruit and red liquorice, revealing fragrant red florals, spices and some oak resin. Medium-bodied, fresh, aromatic red berry fruit flavours are enlivened by brisk, racy acidity, which along with fine, grainy tannins provide a driven palate with good energy. Cherries, spices and oak with some resiny nuances unfold and follow the firm tannin line. The acidity carries the flavours to a light, bright, racy finish. This is a bright and refreshing Pinot Noir with red cherry and berry fruit flavours and a fine, firm palate. Serve with antipasto, pasta, poultry and pork dishes over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit from young vines on the ‘Mahana’ vineyard, indigenous yeast fermented with 10% whole clusters to 13.0% alc., the wine on skins 30 days and aged in 10% new French oak. Certified BioGro organic. 16.5/20 Sep 2013 RRP $24.00
