Turanga Creek ‘Le Pur’ Auckland Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Northland & Auckland
Review Date : 06-Oct-2015
Bright, even straw-yellow colour with a suggestion of green-gold. This has a soft, gentle and slender nose that opens with ethereal volume to show white stonefruits lifted by florals and nuances of honeysuckle. This is delicate and nuanced with fine mineral and nutty notes, the aromatics increasing in depth with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, delicately luscious fruit flavours of white stonefruits and white florals show with clarity and purity. The mouthfeel is very fine-textured and features mouthwatering, lively acidity. The wine flows along an elegant core and line, revealing honeysuckle and mineral notes, leading to a light, lingering dry, thirst-quenching finish with restrained mineral hints. This is an elegant and delicate, dry Pinot Gris with stonefruits, honeysuckle and thirst-quenching mineral nuances. Serve with seafood and fine Asian cuisine over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the Whitford vineyard, hand-picked and WBP, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.8% alc. and <0.5 g/L RS, the wine undergoing batonnage. Certified BioGro organic. 17.5-/20 Oct 2015 RRP $27.00
