Tupari Awatere Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 28-Jul-2014
Fruit from the ‘Boulder’ block and ‘Campers Flat’ sites, fermented to 13.0% and 4 g/L RS, with 10% in seasoned French oak, and the wine aged 6 months on lees with batonnage. Bright, light straw-yellow colour with youthful green hues, near colourless on rim. The bouquet is full with good volume and a dense core you youthfully brash and lively aromas of grassy, herb and nettle-like aromas, classically Awatere in expression, unfolding ethereal lantana elements and steely minerals. Some bean-like secondary development is just appearing. Dry to taste and elegant in proportion, the palate features a tightly bound sweet core of grassy, herb and stalky, nettle-like fruit. This has a firm and finely textured line with excellent drive, along with ripe acidity in support. The mouthfeel is lively and brisk, and the acidity carries the flavour to a very long, dry finish. This is a tightly bound, firmly driven, classical Awatere Valley Sauvignon that will unfold over the next 2-3 years. Serve with seafood, poultry, salads and vegetables. 18.0-/20 Jul 2014 RRP $27.00
