Tupari Awatere Valley Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Dec-2013
Pinot Gris from the top of the Tupari cliff face, given a little skin contact and fermented to 13.0% alc. and 7.4 g/L RS. Bright, even and full, pale straw-yellow colour with some depth, lighter on edge. This has a softly full nose with densely packed aromas of yellow florals and stonefruits infused with subtle exotic spice nuances and honeysuckle, along with fresh, lifted esters elements. Off-dry to taste, harmoniously intermixed flavours of ripe stonefruits, yellow florals, honey and delicate spice notes form a soft, smoothly textured core to the palate. The acidity is discreet and adds to the rounded, near luscious and unctuous flow across the palate. The phenolic textures are very refined and there is gentle, but positive drive and energy carrying the flavours to a long, sustained floral and honied finish. This is a soft-textured and smooth off-dry Pinot Gris with exotic and aromatic fruitiness. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 4 years. 18.0+/20 Dec 2013 RRP $27.00
