Tuatara Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 29-Jul-2011
The prehistoric tuatara reptile, which this label is linked to, can still be found on Stephens Island in the Marlborough Sounds. Made from fruit from varied vineyard sources in Marlborough, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc., and 3.3 g/L rs. Very pale straw-yellow with a very pale edge, this has an intense and tightly expressed nose of pungent passionfruit with fresh herb notes. Dry on palate, this is a finely proportioned and elegant wine with good intensity and some concentration of passionfruit flavours. The acidity is fresh and provides liveliness and good cut, and allows the fruit to be the feature. The wine has a soft, sustained finish. Match with seafood, poultry and vegetables over the next 2+ years. 17.0-/20 Jul 2011 RRP $11.99
