Trout Valley Nelson Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 17-Jul-2015
Dark, even ruby-red colour, lighter on edge. The nose is fresh, light and fragrant with aromas of ripe red berry fruits harmoniously intermixed with nuances of dried herbs, earth and brown spice elements. Medium-bodied, the palate is up-front, open and juicy with attractive flavours of red cherries and raspberries. The mouthfeel is plush and easy and the fruit is supported by light tannin extraction lending a fine, supple mouthfeel. The acidity is fresh, lacy and balanced, adding to the line, which leads to an elegant, tighter finish with plum, herb and earthy elements. This is an up-front, plush and juicy, soft-fruited Pinot Noir with a fine, dry finish. Match with antipasto and tapas over the next 3 years. Fruit from two Moutere vineyards on clay soils, fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 8 months in French oak. 16.5+/20 Jul 2015 RRP $18.90
