Trinity Hill Thomson’s Block Rosé 2022, Hawke’s Bay

Rosé from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 05-Oct-2022
Bright, even, pale peach-pink colour. The nose is elegant, softly full, with aromas of raspberry, stonefruit and red berry melded with lifted floral and delicate spice. Medium-light bodied, dry to taste, intense yet delicate aromas of raspberry, red berry interweaved plum, watermelon, magnolia and subtle white spice. A hint of savouriness lingers to a moreish, lengthy, dry finish. The mouthfeel is poised with refined, dusty minerals, supported by lacy acidity, and flows effortlessly with growing intensity. This dry, red-fruited Syrah Rosé shows well-portioned intense fruit with lacy acidity and features an elegant, textural, structured mouthfeel. Match with Hamachi sashimi and wagyu bresaola over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from Thomson's Vineyard in Roy's Hill, 100% Syrah, handpicked, whole bunch pressed, fermented cool in stainless steel initially, then transferred to 500-litre French oak puncheons to complete fermentation, spent a short time on lees. 12.5% alc, 0.24 g/l RS. 19+/20 pts (96 pts) Oct 2022 RRP $39
