Trinity Hill The Trinity Red Blend 2020, Hawke’s Bay

Blended Red from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 14-Oct-2021
Deep, full ruby-black with a purple hue, lighter on edge. The nose is gentle with underlying power, aromas of blackberries, plums interweave cassis, peppermint and a hint of vine leaves. Full-bodied, nuances of blackberries, plums and cassis lead peppermint, vine leaves, liquorice and subtle black tea fragrance. The mouthfeel is creamy, enriched fine-grained tannin extraction, spices unfold on the closing. The wine has a complex range of primary characters, supported by integrated acidity, lends a lengthy, herbaceous finish. Match with beef short ribs and mushrooms over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from Gimblett Gravels, 52% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, destemmed, fermented to 14% alc, extended post-ferment maceration, aged in stainless steel tanks and a short time in seasoned French oak. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Oct 2021 RRP $24.99
