Trinity Hill The Trinity Red Blend 2017, Hawkes Bay

Blended Red from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 08-Jun-2020
Bright, medium ruby-red with depth, lighter on edge. The nose is poise, displaying combination aromas of juicy plums, blackberries, cassis and red berries; along with herbs, subtle oak spices and some red floral elements. The palate is fresh with taut acidity, carrying aromas of a mix of berries, plums and cassis along with a subtle herbal note and baking spices on the finish. Medium-full bodied, the palate is structured by a core of fine-grained tannin, providing grip and linearity, with fresh acidity. This is an elegant Merlot predominant, Cabernet blend with juicy aromas of mixed berries, plums and cassis along with subtle herbs and spicy details of oak on the palate with gippy fine-grained tannin structure. Match with lamb and beef grill over the next 3 years. Fruit from vineyards of Gimblett Stones, Tin Shed and Gimblett Estate. 63% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc fermented to 12.5% alc. Aged in a combination of French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks for 15 months. 17.5/20pts June 2020 RRP$22.99
