Trinity Hill ‘The Trinity’ Hawke’s Bay 2012

Merlot from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 12-Feb-2014
Dark, deep ruby-red colour with some black hues at heart. The bouquet is very fresh and primary with aromas of red berries and currants, marked a little by herbaceous notes, but presented softly with good volume and cohesiveness. Medium-bodied, a mix of herbaceous red berry fruits features, but the fruit is sweet and shows richness and succulence. The acidity is restrained and along with soft, supple tannins results in an attractively supple mouthfeel. The acidity becomes more prominent on finish. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from the Gimblett Gravels, fermented to 12.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in French oak and stainless-steel barrels. Drink over the next 3-4+ years. 17.0+/20 Feb 2014 RRP $20.00
