Trinity Hill Pinot Gris 2021, Hawke’s Bay

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 14-Oct-2021
Bright, pale yellow with a slight green hue, even colour throughout. The nose softly full, perfumed aromas of pear drop, bruised apple with a suggestion of melon, melded with white florals. Medium-bodied, dry-ish to taste, elegantly presented on the palate, a smooth flow of apple, pear drop, interweave a hint of honey, white blossoms, and a subtle linger of ginger. The fruit is pure and vibrant with balanced ripeness, showing elegance. The mouthfeel is smooth along a lightly oily texture, carries a touch of ginger leaves a prickling sensation. This is an amiable Pinot Gris with elegant apple and pear drop flavours, adorned by white florals and ginger spice on a smooth flow. Match with siu mai and Vietnamese summer rolls over the next 2-3 years. Pinot Gris fruit from Woodstock Vineyard, Ohiti subregion, short skin contact before pressed to old 500L French oak puncheons for fermentation, 13% alc, 5.9g/l RS. 18+/20 pts (91 pts) Oct 2021 RRP $24.99
