Full, deep, purple-hued ruby-red colour. On bouquet this is very fragrant with a rose and violet floral lift to the soft, pure, clear-cut raspberry fruit. Ripe jam, white pepper and spice notes emerge on the nose, adding interest. Medium-full bodied, the palate features a beautiful amalgam of vibrant and sweet raspberry fruit with aromatic lift. This is elegant in proportion with moderate extraction and fine-grained tannins providing suppleness. Fresh acidity enlivens the fruit expression and the wine has a moderately sustained finish with white pepper and spice nuances. 95% Syrah and 5% Viognier from the company's ‘Gimblett Estate and ‘Gimblett Stones' sites, and the ‘Stockbridge' vineyard, all in the Gimblett Gravels, plus ‘Cardoness Lodge in the Redmetal Triangle, co-fermented to 13.8% alc., the wine aged 10 months in French and American oak barrels and in stainless-steel tanks.
