Trinity Hill Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 14-Feb-2017
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with lemon-gold hues, paler on the edge. The nose is softly full with a core of fresh aromas of gooseberries, tropical fruits, herbs and green stonefruits, and nuances of thirst-quenching chalky minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses a tightly bound heart with flavours of tropical fruits, gooseberries, green stonefruits and herbs. The fruit sweetness is balanced by subtle, chalky, minerally phenolic textures and the flavours lifted by fresh acidity. The wine flows with good linearity to an elegant, lighter finish with nuances of gooseberries and minerals. This is a finely concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with subtly sweet flavours of tropical fruits, gooseberries and herbs, along with chalky minerals and fine textures, and fresh acidity. Match with seafood and Asian fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from Raukawa, Porangahau and Mangatahi, cool-fermented in stainless-steel with 15% in barriques to 11.6% alc. and 2.5 g/L RS, most of the wine aged 8 months on lees. 17.5/20 Feb 2017 RRP $20.00
