Trinity Hill Hawke’s Bay Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 18-Oct-2015
Moderately dark ruby-red colour with lighter purple hues on edge. This has a fresh and firmly concentrated nose of youthfully primary dark red cherry and berry fruits entwined with stalky whole bunch, herbaceous elements, along with spice detail. Medium-bodied, the palate features deeply penetrating flavours of dark red cherry fruit intermingling with herb, stalk and stemmy elements. This has a firm palate core and line, the fruit underlined by fine, drying, grainy tannins and enlivened by crisp, lacy acidity. This has energy and tension and the palate carries to a long, concentrated and textured finish of herbs and cherry fruit. This is a fresh, firm, cherry and berry fruited Pinot Noir with herb and stalk whole cluster notes. Serve with antipasto, tapas and Mediterranean fare over the next 3-4 years. Clones Abel, 115, 667, 777 and 6, from the ‘Esprit’ vineyard and Mangaorapa Station, fermented with 20% whole bunches to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 8 months in barriques and tank. 16.5/20 Oct 2015 RRP $22.00
