Trinity Hill Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 18-Oct-2015
Fruit from Mangaorapa Station, Southern Hawke’s Bay and Blackbridge, Haumoana, fermented in stainless-steel and seasoned oak to 12.5% alc. and 3.9 g/L RS, the wine aged 10 months on lees. Brilliant, light straw-yellow colour with light lemon-green hues. The nose is very fresh with tightly bound aromas of bright and clear yellow stonefruits along with waxy, lanolin elements, fresh herbs and lifted, exotic florals. The aromatics possess a steeliness at the core. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a soft, rich core packed with white stonefruit flavours, nuts and herbs, lifted florals and waxy, lanolin-like elements. The wine flows smoothly along a fine line, with lively acidity lending a crisp and refreshing mouthfeel. This has tension and drive which carries the palate to an elegant, lingering finish of stonefruits and herbs. This is a crisp, refreshing dry Pinot Gris with a good core of stonefruit flavours with a waxy note. Match with seafood and poultry, and with Mediterranean cuisine over the next 2-3 years. 17.0+/20 Oct 2015 RRP $20.00
