Trinity Hill Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 11-Mar-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour with a faint golden blush, pale edged. This has a light, clean nose with white stonefruits and a little flint and nutty interest fro barrel work and lees contact. Dry to taste, this has a light and slender palate with aromatic pear and stonefruit flavours along with subtle hints of spices, flint and minerals, and a suggestion of honey. The mouthful is sleek and driven with a light textural line, supported by restrained acidity and freshness. This has a linearity and drive that carries through to a light lingering mineral-flavoured, grainy and dry finish. This is a clean, slender and sleek Pinot Grigio styled wine with stonefruit flavours and light, grainy textures. Serve with tapas and antipasto over the next 2 years. Fruit from ‘Mangaorapa Station’ in Southern Hawke’s Bay and ‘Blackbridge’ in Haumoana’, fermented in tank and seasoned oak to 12.2% alc. and 4 g/L rs, the wine aged 8 months on lees. 16.0+/20 Mar 2013 RRP $20.00
