Trinity Hill Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2015

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 22-Nov-2016
Bright, even, light straw-yellow colour with pale golden hues, lighter on the edge. The nose is finely concentrated with intense aromas of fresh white and yellow stonefruits entwined with soft and harmonious layers of flint lees and minerally reductive complexities, unfolding lemon-curd MLF, creamy and toasty oak notes. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegant and softly concentrated with rich flavours of white and yellow stonefruits melded with layers of nutty and toasty oak, unfolding creamy lemon-curd MLF and flinty lees detail from the core. The mouthfeel is well-balanced with fine textures and fresh, lacy acidity, and the flavours carry to a long, sustained finish of stonefruits, nuts and toasty oak and subtle flint detail. This is a well-balanced Chardonnay with layers of stonefruits, oak and flinty minerals on a fine-textured, accessible palate. Serve with seafood, poultry and pork over the next 3-4 years. Clone 95, 15 and 548 fruit from Raukawa, Haumoana, Bridge Pa Triangle and the Gimblett Gravels, indigenous yeast barrel-fermented to 12.9% alc., the wine aged 12 months in French oak barrel with MLF, the wine given a further 3 months on full lees in tank. 18.5/20 Nov 2016 RRP $20.00
