Bright, light straw-yellow colour, pale edged. This has a fresh nose with deep aromas of citrus fruits and yellow stonefruits entwined with nutty oak, and melded with creamy barrel-ferment and lemon curd MLF layers, unveiling delicate flinty complexities. Medium-full bodied, softly rich and lush flavours of citrus and stonefruits are presented with mealy and nutty notes, along with creamy barrel-ferment and toasty oak. This has a concentrated core that flows smoothly, the palate enriched by soft acidity and guided by a fine textured line. The wine carries to a dry, long lingering finish with nutty and mineral detail. This is a soft, smooth and rich, creamy Chardonnay with harmoniously presented flavours of citrus fruits, mealy and nutty oak, and flinty detail. Match with seafood, poultry and pork over the next 3-4 years. Clones 95, 15 and 548 from Ruakawa, Haumoana, Bridge Pa and the Gimblett Gravels, WBP and indigenous yeast barrel-fermented to 13.4% alc., the wine aged 10 months in French oak with MLF. 18.0-/20 Oct 2015 RRP $20.00
