Trinity Hill Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 26-Jun-2014
Clones 15, 95 and Mendoza, from Rauwaka, Haumoana, Bridge Pa Triangle and the Gimblett Gravels, WBP and partially indigenous yeast barrel-fermented to 13.3% alc., with MLF. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with some green hues on rim. This has an elegant nose of savoury, ripe citrus fruit and yellow stonefruits interwoven with subtle, nutty barrel-ferment and buttery MLF elements providing a counterpoint to the fruit. Dry and medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly proportioned with a good, fine core of savoury stonefruit and citrus fruit flavours. The fruit is fresh and poised with crisp acidity, and flows with complexing nuances of nuts, oak and butterscotch providing a degree of interest. The wine leads to a brisk and lively, dry finish with citrus and nutty elements. This is a fresh, savoury-fruited Chardonnay with restrained nutty and buttery interest. Match with antipasto and white meat dishes over the next 3+ years. 17.0/20 Jun 2014 RRP $20.00
