Deep, full, dark purple with a ruby-black hue, lighter on the rim. The nose is full, packed with dark elements of earth, graphite intermixed blackberries, Damson plums, sage and black pepper. Full-bodied, dense aromas of blackberries, Damson plums supported by a rich earthiness, savoury, meaty nuance, unfolding sage and black pepper. Grunty, firm tannins reflect rich mineral soils and dark flinty elements, provide structure and a silky mouthfeel. Juicy acidity integrated with fruit lengthens and feeds freshness to a long, pure expression. This Gimblett Gravels Syrah expresses a sense of place with firm structure, pure dark fruit and soil elements supported by integrated, juicy acidity. Match with braised beef cheeks and lamb rack over the next 6+ years.
