Fruit from the Gimblett Gravels, with partial old-oak fermentation to 14.5% alc. Bright lemon-straw-yellow in colour, this has a restrained, shy nose, with apricots, exotic blossom aromatics and minerals emerging in the glass. On palate this explodes with flavour, filling the mouth with apricots, tropical fruits, ginger and exotic florals, backed by great power, depth and some alcohol warmth. The wine is rich and oily in textures and makes a statement. Drink over the next 2-3+ years with Middle Eastern cuisine.  Mar 2011
