Trinity Hill Gimblett Gravels Hawke’s Bay Arneis 2011

Arneis from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 25-Oct-2012
Brilliant straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. The bouquet is classically restrained with very pure white stonefruit aromas and subtle nutty notes, quite pristine and showing good depth and presence. Dry to taste, white floral and white stonefruit flavours unfold to reveal delicate nutty, mineral elements. This has good weight and mouthfeel, with a smooth, flowing palate. Soft acidity and some alcohol power adds to the vinosity and palate drive, and the wine finishes dry with sustained flavours of florals and stonefruits. This is a dry Arneis, with good weight, presence and smooth textures. Match with antipasto, seafood and poultry over the next 3+ years. Hand-picked fruit from the ‘Gimblett Estate' vineyard, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented in old oak to 13.5% alc. and 2.5 g/L rs. The wine was aged in barrel for 10 months with lees contact and partial MLF. 17.5/20 Oct 2012 RRP $34.95
