Trapiche ‘Vineyards’ Argentina Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from Argentina
Review Date : 21-Feb-2014
Fruit from the Mendoza River and East Mendoza, hand-picked, destemmed, given a cold soak and fermented to 13.0% alc. and 5 g/L RS. Moderately deep ruby-red colour with a deep heart and slight purple edge. The nose is full and up-front with bright raspberry fruit aromas underlined by herbal and stalky elements, the bouquet showing some robustness. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, up-front raspberry and herbal fruit flavours are entwined with some alcohol power providing drive. The mouthfeel is smooth with a fine, grainy line and enlivening acidity enhances the fruit juiciness. The palate leads to a dry finish with some presence and length. This is an up-front Pinot Noir with good presence, showing raspberry and herbs. Match with tapas, pasta and pizza over the next 2 years. 15.5-/20 Feb 2014 RRP $13.99
