Trapiche ‘Oak Cask’ Mendoza Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina
Review Date : 22-Mar-2012
100% Cabernet Sauvignon from vineyards 750-1100 metres asl, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months in French and American oak barrels. Very full, dense and saturated black-red colour. This has fresh, bright blackcurrant and black floras on the nose, lifted, with some perfumes, and showing some nuances of herbs and pepper with cedary oak. Medium-bodied, this is firm and concentrated with moderately rich black berried fruit flavours. The fresh acidity adds to the fruitiness, and the palate has a firm line from the tannin extraction leading to a black fruit flavoured finish. Medium-bodied with some fruit sweetness and palate firmness, this Cabernet Sauvignon will match grilled and roasted red meat dishes over the next 4-5 years. 16.0+/20 Mar 2012 RRP $16.99
