Tour de Montrabech Corbieres 2015

Blended Red from France - Other
Review Date : 10-Mar-2017
Dark, deep, ruby-red colour with black hues at the heart and light purple on the rim. The nose is well-packed with good depth of savoury red berry fruits layered with garrigue herbs, unfolding soft raspberry fruit notes along with game and earthy detail. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly proportioned with juicy, up-front flavours of savoury red berry fruit entwined with a layer of garrigue herb, and subtle notes of earth and game. The fruit is supported by grainy tannin extraction lending a fine dry grip, and soft background acidity adding to the roundness of the core. The wine carries with some alcohol drive to a lingering dry finish of savoury fruit and herbs. This is a juicy, savoury red-fruited Corbieres with garrigue herbs, earth and game notes on a dry, textural palate. Serve with casseroles and game meat dishes over the next 3+ years. A blend of 50% Syrah, 35% Grenache and 15% Carignan, fermented to 13.0% alc. 16.5+/20 Mar 2017 RRP $15.50
