Torres ‘Sangre de Toro’ Catalunya 2012

Grenache from Spain
Review Date : 18-Feb-2014
Very dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. The bouquet is light and slender with light aromas of dark raspberry and rustic earthy fruit aromas, along with herbal and reduction elements. Light-bodied, rich, juicy and luscious fruit flavours of bright, primary raspberry fruits show on front palate. There is good, fresh, bright acidity enlivening the fruit and the palate carries supple, modest tannins. The fruit fades, leaving a dry-textured, brisk finish. This is a fresh, fruity, up-front Garnacha-based wine with a dry finish. Serve with pasta and barbecued food over the next 3+ years. Garnacha and Carinena fermented to 13.5% alc. and aged 6 months in American and French oak. 16.5-/20 Feb 2014 RRP $19.99
