Torres ‘Celeste’ Ribera del Duero Crianza 2010

Tempranillo from Spain
Review Date : 08-Sep-2013
Very dark, deep, ruby-red colour. This has a very elegant and refined bouquet, tight and restrained in expression. Aromas of ripe black berry fruits and dark plums are harmoniously entwined with oak spices and a mineral element. A black floral nuance adds lift and detail. Medium-full bodied, tightly bound and concentrated flavours of black fruits form a fine core. Subtle layers of plums and dark florals become revealed, along with minerals and oak spices. The fruit is supported by fine-grained tannins and the mouthfeel has lovely vitality with balanced acid tension. The palate is very well-proportioned and has good linearity carrying through to a refined, dry, stylish finish. This is a very elegant and fine-featured Ribera del Duero with black fruits, oak spices and mineral nuances. Serve with Mediterranean fare, roasted red meats and hard cheeses over the next 6-8 years. 100% Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 60% American and 40% French oak. 18.0/20 Sep 2013 RRP $31.99
