Torrent Bay Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 11-Jan-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour with light green hues, near colourless on edge. The nose is voluminous with soft aromas of gooseberries, along with subtle passionfruit, nettle and tomato leaf notes, the fruit in the cooler spectrum. Dry to taste with tightly constrained, straightforward flavours of gooseberry fruit and grassy notes, the mouthfeel is brisk and racy from elevated acidity. The palate follows a fine-textured line and recedes to a light, zesty, moderately long finish. This is an up-front, gooseberry and grassy Sauvignon Blanc with refreshing acidity and a crisp mouthfeel. Serve with seafood, and salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. A blend of fruit from all of the company’s vineyards, fermented to 12.5% alc. and 6.8 g/L RS, the wine aged 2 months on lees. 4,260 cases made. 16.5-/20 Jan 2014 RRP $16.99
