Torrent Bay Nelson Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 11-Jan-2014
Full, bright, pale straw-yellow colour with a faint hint of blush, lighter on edge. The bouquet is very clean and fresh with light, lifted aromatics of white stonefruits, pears and honeysuckle. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, bright and lively, up-front flavours of stonefruits and pears are enriched by honied notes. There is a degree of succulence to the mouthfeel, and there are hints of exotic florals. The crisp, clean acidity is a feature on the palate which leads the wine to a light-flavoured, dry and lacy finish. This is a clean and fresh, aromatic and up-front off-dry Pinot Gris with some richness. Serve with most first courses over the next 2-3 years. A blend of fruit from different sites fermented to 12.0% alc. and 7.9 g/L RS, the wine spending 3 months on lees. 1,700 cases made. 16.5+/20 Jan 2014 RRP $16.99
