Torrent Bay Nelson Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 11-Jan-2014
Fruit from the ‘Flett Road’ vineyard, predominantly stainless-steel fermented to 14.5% alc. and 3.0 g/L RS, the wine aged 6 months on lees and given light oaking. Bright, light golden straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. This has a soft, gentle nose of tropical fruits with citrus and honied apricot aroma well-integrated and harmoniously presented. Dry to taste and full-bodied, sweetly ripe flavours of tropical fruits, apricots and a little honey show on palate. The mouthfeel is smooth-flowing with well-handled phenolic textures and elevated, racy acidity providing drive and energy. The palate leas to a light, grainy finish. This is a full, up-front, sweet-fruited Chardonnay with some racy drive. Match with seafood and poultry over the next 2+ years. 580 cases made. 15.5+/20 Jan 2013 RRP $16.99
