Torea Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 15-Sep-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with slight golden hues, lighter on the rim. This has a softly concentrated nose with moderately deep aromas of savoury gooseberries and herbs with secondary development notes of green beans, unfolding cut grass and nettle elements. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a tight core of gooseberries with cooler-spectrum cut grass and nettle fruit flavours, along with an underlying thread of green beans from bottle development. The mouthfeel is marked by light, drying, grainy phenolic textures, but is enlivened by refreshingly crisp acidity. The cut grass and nettle flavours carry to a tight, lingering finish. This is a tight and crisp Sauvignon Blanc with cooler spectrum and secondary development flavours and some dry, grainy textures. Serve with salads and vegetables and Mediterranean fare over the next 18 months. Fruit from a single site in the Wairau Valley, cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 5 g/L RS. 15.5/20 Sep 2016 RRP $16.99
