Torea Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 15-Sep-2016
Full, even straw-yellow colour with golden hues and some depth, a little lighter edged. The nose is fresh, light and clean, and expressed with clarity, showing uncomplicated aromas of white and yellow stonefruits with subtle floral and herbal notes. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has an elegantly presented, slender and tightly bound core and line with aromatic white and yellow stonefruit flavours lifted by floral nuances. The fruit is subtly sweet and has a degree of richness, balanced by bright, lacy acidity providing energy and tension. The wine flows along a fine line, leading to a light, nuanced finish. This is an elegant and slender, fresh. dryish Pinot Gris with gentle richness and concentration. Serve with mildly spicy Asian cuisine over the next 3 years. Fruit from a single site in the Wairau Valley, cool-fermented to 13.2% alc. and 5 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Sep 2016 RRP $16.99
