Tora Bay Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 24-Jan-2013
Bright, pale straw colour with some green hues. This has a fresh, tightly concentrated and finely presented nose with aromas of gooseberry fruit with notes of aromatic, fresh herbs, tropical fruits and minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, tightly bound, stylish and concentrated flavours of herbs and gooseberries, lifted with ester nuances form an intense core. Some phenolic textures result in a grainy mouthfeel and provide linear drive with good body. Lively acidity emerges and carries the palate to a sustained finish featuring fresh herb and gooseberry flavours. This is a properly dry and concentrated gooseberryish Sauvignon Blanc with grainy palate textures. It will be a good food wine to match with seafood, poultry and vegetables over the next 2-3 years. Sauvignon Blanc from the ‘Tora Bay' vineyard stainless-steel fermented to 12.0% alc. and 6 g/L rs. 17.5/20 Jan 2013 RRP $19.95
