Bright straw-yellow colour with light green-gold hues, paler on the edge. The nose is refreshingly bright with vibrant and lively aromas of yellow peaches and nectarines, along with piquant lemon-curd MLF and subtle nutty elements. Melon and tropical fruit elements unfold with aeration, the aromatics growing in tightness and intensity. Medium-bodied, the palate features intense, bright fruit flavours of nectarines and citrus fruits melded with aromatic layers of lemon-curd MLF and restrained nutty oak notes. The mouthfeel is zesty and luscious with refreshing acidity and the wine flows with good energy along a very fine line, leading to an elegant, lingering finish of stonefruits, tropical fruits and lemon-curd. This is a bright and lively Chardonnay with nectarines, citrus and stonefruits along with piquant lemon-curd MLF flavours on a refreshing palate. Match with seafood, poultry and pork dishes over the next 3 years. Clone 15 fruit from the ‘Judd Estate’, Patutahi, tank-fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine given oak contact, undergoing approx. 50% MLF and batonnage for 6 months. 17.5/20 Jan 2017 RRP $17.00
