Pale pink colour with slight hints of purple on the rim. The nose is fresh and delicate with subtle red floral aromas with mouthwatering nuances of minerals and a suggestion of herbs. Off-dry to taste, the mouthfeel is thirst-quenching and lively, showing an amalgam of red florals, fresh herbs and minerals. This has a suggestion of unctuousness and richness. Crip and racy acidity provides cut and balance and the wine follows a fine, textural line leading to a long, gently rich finish. This is crisp with delicately rich red floral fruit. Drinking well now. Merlot fruit from the ‘Young’, Bayview, ‘Craft Farm’ Havelock North, and ‘Lyons’ Bridge Pa vineyards, WBP for low colour pick-up, and tank-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 6.0 g/L RS, with a small amount of Tempranillo wine for colour and Muscat wine for aromatic adjustment. 18.0-/20 Mar 2016 RRP $20.00 Bright, pale, candyfloss pink colour with light purple hues on the rim. The nose is fresh and elegant with clear and light fruit aromas of strawberries and cream, watermelon and cranberries, along with mouthwatering nuances of herbs and minerals, unfolding hints of confectionary in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features bright and refreshingly juicy flavours of strawberries and cream, watermelon and quince. The fruit sweetness is enlivened by fresh, lacy, mouthwatering acidity and the wine flows along a smooth line. Fine and soft, dry textures emerge, leading to a light, dry, lingering finish. This is a refreshingly juicy, dry rosé with delicate strawberries and cream and watermelon fruit flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with canapes over the next 2 years.
